Mundford u15 played their game of the season to claim the title of Mid Norfolk Champions at Shouldham. Second placed Shouldham needed a result from this game and came at Mundford from the start but found Mundford in no mood to be generous. Shouldham did take the lead but this more due to the divots in the pitch fooling Mundfords defence than great play. Mundford regrouped very quickly and it soon became very clear that Mundfords no9 Danny Foster was in the mood to party and he treated the Shouldham defence to the run around of their lives. Shouldham found him to hot to handle and he soon found the net with his first from a cute and intelligent free kick. Mundford pushed on and and Foster again broke the Shouldham line and fired across the goal into the bottom corner. This gave Mundford a 2-1 cushion and though Shouldham pushed, Mundfords defence and midfield coped admirably and kept their shape well and Shouldham found Mundfords players working overtime to double up for each other. The second half saw a game played mainly away from Mundfords keeper Barlow although he dealt efficiently with all he needed to. Mundford played some super football and deservedly took a third goal when Nev Wrights perfect through ball found Foster who lobbed the oncoming Shouldham keeper to give him his hat-trick and take the under 15 title to Mundford. A great game from all of Mundfords players and a proud day for its management team.
